Kian Konrad Tajbakhsh is a 20-year-old aerospace entrepreneur and the Founder & CEO of Exlumina, a Hamburg- and Dubai-based space startup. He founded the company the day after his 18th birthday and is leading its mission to reshape the future of space technology. With a background in aerospace engineering and experience as an FPV drone pilot, Kian combines technical expertise with entrepreneurial vision. Under his leadership, Exlumina is developing laser-based satellite power transmission systems to provide continuous in-orbit energy, aiming to replace the need for batteries and solar panels on spacecraft. Driven by the goal of advancing humanity toward becoming a multiplanetary civilization, Kian is building Exlumina into a serious contender in the global space economy, bridging innovation between Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.
Exlumina is a space technology company developing Everlight, the first orbital power utility. Our laser-based satellite network delivers energy-as-a-service to spacecraft, replacing bulky solar panels and batteries with continuous, on-demand power. By reducing satellite launch mass and unlocking higher power availability, Exlumina enables more capable constellations, deep-space missions, and a sustainable orbital energy grid. Headquartered in Dubai with R&D in Germany, Exlumina is advancing from TRL 4 prototypes toward its first in-orbit demonstration in 2026.
